How to Leverage the Power of Twitter Moments

Twitter moments is a feature on Twitter that allows users to turn multiple tweets into slideshow stories.

In order to create Twitter moments, simply login to your Twitter account and click on the 3 dots in the menu bar, and click on “moments”.

Then click on the plus sign and follow the prompts. You can create some of the best Twitter moments combining tweets you’ve either liked, tweets from certain accounts, you can even add tweets you search based on keywords or by adding the link url of a tweet.

You will need to add a title for your Twitter moments. Keep it short but descriptive. So if your moment is a series of tweets about an event you can name your Twitter moment the name of the event.

Then you’ll have to upload a cover picture or video. You can create a custom image for your cover and upload it, or use any image from the tweets you plan to include in your moment.

Then simply tick the tweets you plan to stitch together in your moment. Twitter recommends you don’t include more than 10 tweets in your Twitter moments.

Then write your description. A description should provide more information about the moment and entice people to watch it.

For example, if you plan to create a moment about a conference and all the most impactful statements made by the speakers, your Twitter moments example description could be “Here’s a compilation of the most inspirational and motivational statements made by our world-renowned guest speakers at this year’s Digital Entrepreneur Summit.”

Next, click on publish. When you do, you’ll be given advice on how to optimise your Twitter moments for mobile users who will watch it through their mobile device by cropping the pictures.

You can either publish the moment as it is, or write a tweet for it. A Twitter moments example tweet could be: “check out inspirational and motivational statements made by our world-renowned guest speakers at this year’s Digital Entrepreneur Summit.”

What will make Twitter moments stand out from standard tweets is the yellow symbol that indicates it’s a moment. Then, the title, the description and the cover picture will also be displayed in the tweet.

When you click on the tweet, you’ll be redirected to the moment which is basically a list of the tweets you included in your moment.

If you want to delete a moment, simply click on the 3 dots on the top right hand side and click on “delete”. Then you’ll also need to delete the tweet you used to promote the moment. So simply go to your tweet, and click on the arrow next to it, and click “delete”.

If you want to watch other people’s best Twitter moments, you can do so by scrolling through your feed or by going to people’s accounts, and clicking on “view moments” to see what best Twitter moments they’ve shared.
